When we made this film in 1996, no-one could have imagined what would happen in the years to come. We were just kids in art school, making a film. Katharina Wackernagel would soon start one of the most brilliant acting careers in German cinema (I dare to claim I saw her talent already before it all started). Hanns Malte Meyer, although he could have started an acting career, decided to become an architect in Berlin. A very successful one, I heard. Sadly, he passed away at such a young age in 2018. It is devastating to think that he is gone. - Here is our little film, intended to be a "film noir", so don't expect it to be very uplifting. Now it has become a document to our youth and to us being "absolute beginners", when there's "nothing much at stake".
